In 2020, the annual general meeting of Sparkasse Bremen was held virtually for the first time in the company’s 195-year history – everything had to run smoothly and in accordance with the articles of association at the digital premiere of Bremen’s largest financial services provider.
A special regulation that exceptionally allows “virtual general and members’ meetings” in the Corona year 2020 was the basis for the virtual members’ meeting of the financial holding company of the Sparkasse in Bremen. To ensure that the premiere of the hybrid event ran smoothly, we coordinated analogue with digital event processes so that the board of directors could smoothly guide the 250 participating members through the first virtual meeting.
In the 195th year of Sparkasse Bremen’s existence, the digital transformation was experienced in terms of content and organisation. The historic Sparkasse building on Brill provided a fitting backdrop for the contributions of the board members, which were broadcast to the participants as a live stream.
With a digitally-secure online platform coordinated by JOKE and developed by our digital subsidiary DGS, all the requirements of a digital general meeting could be realised in accordance with the articles of association. In addition to the perfect image and sound transmission from the platform in the CI of the savings bank, this included the exercise of voting rights by the members – via voting tool or optionally in advance via postal vote – as well as the comprehensive right of the participants to ask questions in the form of a chat function. JOKE provides the analogue part of this hybrid event in the form of furniture and technology as well as the comprehensive project management for a flawless event.
