As a joint initiative of companies and science, the Stifterverband networks and promotes the fields of education, research and innovation. Since 2015, we have been overseeing its Research Summit – which took place digitally for the first time in 2021 – organized in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the Expert Commission for Research and Innovation, and the Volkswagen Foundation.
We implemented the event as a 360° project, with the goal of maintaining the dialog and networking quality of the annual research summit as 100% as possible under digital condition. Full service from project management to complete production with stage construction and streaming technology as well as our own logistics, so that even in pandemic times everything was reliably and punctually on site.
The visual and content-related framework of the top-class research summit was provided by the moderation stage in the Allianz Forum Berlin. From there, the four-hour online event with 500 digital viewers was technically coordinated and controlled by the JOKE project team. The digital counterpart to the analogue stage was the user-friendly Converia platform, also in event design, which we implemented.
Here, more than a dozen renowned speakers and discussion participants came together to exchange ideas on the topic of “The Next Generation Innovation System”. The coordination of all contributions and feeds – from representatives of business and science to the German Chancellor, who was connected live to the event – also a part of our responsibility. These were successful, so that decision-makers and experts from business, research and politics were able to discuss, efficiently and at length, the future of Germany as an innovation location. Its quality and relevance, especially in Corona times, became clearer than ever.
