The annual conference of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, one of the largest German research societies, focused on artificial intelligence and the question of the practical application of this forward-looking development. Our task was to make artificial intelligence tangible within the framework of the event – interactive and direct instead of theoretical and abstract.
Artificial intelligence – many possibilities, but also fears are associated with one of the buzz words of digitalisation. The conference topic was innovatively integrated into the event concept and implementation and thus made directly tangible for the audience to show its high potential – especially in cooperation with humans. ‘Explora’, the interactive personification of artificial intelligence, accompanied the stage show as a virtual co-host and took on a wide variety of forms. It appeared as a projection on specially designed acrylic sculptures, as a laser amplitude and as a 3D sound installation that could move in and through the hall. This digital interaction was present throughout the stage programme – from the speeches to the live music performances.
Together with our partner Onliveline who was responsible for the concept and client management, we translated innovative event content into an innovative event staging with digital components. The progressive message of the event was extended to the science community via livestream.
