Experiencing the joy of flying at first hand and strengthening the identification of both employees and their family members with the global Airbus Group – with this goal in mind, we started planning and implementing the Family & Friends Festival at the Airbus site in Bremen. The official project started 4 months before the event date.
In a combination of brand experience and a look behind the scenes, 12,000 young and old visitors were thrilled with a colorful infotainment program. Exciting guided tours through various areas of the company and presentations such as
an air show with historic and current small aircraft and an exhibition of the BelugaXL and A400M mega-transporters offered pure aviation adventure. The next generation in particularcould really take off: at the mini-pilot airfield, on the high jump or in the aircraft train. Hands-on activities such as the slackline workshop created interactive moments to remember.
Live entertainment to match the storytelling – from Star Wars acts to flying basketball players, walking acts with an aviator look, acrobats suitable for flying and a marching brass band – provided colorful entertainment.
A total of 600 event staff and around 30 of our own JOKE people were directed by our Bremen Regio team at the employee event. It took a week just to set up the infrastructure, including four large event areas, dozens of exhibition stands and several halls. Thanks to our in-house resources, we were able to realize the project comprehensively, from conception and project management to production and participant handling.
Despite the short lead time, it turned out to be a mega event in which sustainability also played a role: digital solutions such as an event app or cashless payment system, environmentally friendly mobility for (electric train), recyclable catering materials and deposit solutions showed that XXL events can also be implemented in a more resource-efficient way.
