Full commitment to make sure the client’s Summer party went off perfectly: as test rabbits, we put the event adaptation of a life-size computer game classic through its paces at our own Summer party. Pac-Man goes corn maze – 100% success and fun thanks to an original JOKE creation and committed JOKE volunteers.
Human Pac-Man with 350 online game developers from InnoGames in the corn maze. The classic game was to be implemented as closely as possible to the original, but with many more players and extended rules. Analogue, live, with lots of action and a competitive character. Success was largely dependent on the implementation of the game, and there was no experience from comparable projects to fall back on. Rules and processes had to be developed from scratch and an exact prediction of the flow of the game was difficult to make in theory. So, without further ado, we developed the game with our entire team – as part of our own annual staff event “JOKE Summer Camp” – and tested it ourselves.
The Summer Camp with Human Pac-Man became an internal pilot project for collective creation. Our entire team was involved in the brainstorming and planning and developed rules, scenography and the framework of the Summer Camp and customer event across departments and locations. Uncensored, crazy and in the end very successful for both parties.
