To break away from typical “staff party” formats, we created a spectacular corporate festival high above the rooftops of Germany’s Ruhr region. The unique venue: the impressive grounds of the former Zeche Ewald coal mine in Herten. Here, modern employer branding, genuine appreciation, and emotional live communication came together in a bold and vibrant way. Our mission: a full-service implementation of the event – from creative concept and activation strategy to production and execution.
The feeling of closeness and real team spirit kicked off well before the event, with an internal campaign that spoke to everyone – from seasoned festival-goers to first-timers. A dedicated festival website, interactive intranet features, eye-catching posters, and personalized email campaigns delivered information, excitement, and a sense of involvement. For those less digitally inclined, there were print flyers. For the curious, the “DSV Festival Network”. And for the hesitant, humorous video formats like “Good Times, Good Times” playfully addressed common questions. The surprise stars? Two custom festival mascots – DSVau and DSVaultier – brought to life by senior DSV leaders in full costume. They quickly became beloved team icons across DSV’s internal channels.
At the event itself, the mascots doubled as co-hosts and selfie magnets, creating unforgettable emotional moments throughout the day. Over 1,000 employees of all ages came together to celebrate the DSV Festival with: 3 live stages, 20 performances, from breakdance and beatboxing to brass bands and an electronic dancefloor, 4 in-house DJs, 12 food trucks and interactive highlights like the costume competition. And instead of heading to hotels after the final act, the entire DSV crew camped together on a spacious, fully equipped site – set up and managed by our team.
This festival wasn’t just a great party – it was a bold brand statement. A powerful expression of shared values and emotional connection, made possible through authentic, meaningful staging. This is how live communication turns into a lasting Employer Brand Experience.
